MY GURU
My self being the third generation from the family of Panjab Gharana musician where sangeet is nourished since two generations.
Starting from my grandfather, that is, 177 years back, there is a continuous flow of sangeet and myself being the Third generational to nurture this style and, tradition with all my efforts, My Grandfather Late Shri Lakshmandas Ji was a great artist of his area Himachal Pradesh Jwali Dist. Kangra famous in Dhrupad Dhamar Gayaki.
Further continuing the tradition my father Late Shri Ratan Chand Verma learned classical vocal (Thumari-Ghazal under the tutelage of veteran musician Ustad Fathedeen Khan Sahib (Lahore Pakistan) of the Panjab Gharana .My father`s perfect urdu accent coupled with his impecceable “GAYAKI”lend a fare authenticity to his aesthetic rendering of intricate ghazals .My father was a great signer and also “Mahir” in Playing tabla .He has been associated with various concerts.
Further being the for chbearer of legacy I have been trained by my Late father in Gurbani Shabads Classical ragas.Ghazal in Ustadana Style ,Being a disciple in Panjab Gharana I am influenced by the traditional old style Ghayaki of Ghazal Thus I feel very proud to get gift of traditional music in virasat.
